So it's in my brain. Breast cancer in my brain. There's no preparing yourself for that one. The debilitating, crippling fear that you might not come out of this as yourself is honestly one of the most terrifying things I've dealt with yet. BUT, we handle it, like we do everything else. We hold our heads high and let nurses screw halos into our skulls because there is nothing left to do but move forward. And hopefully, we get more time and more laughs and more cats and more moments that prove to us that it's all worth it. And that is why #stageivneedsmore. Also I'm now a seasoned gamma knife radiation queen 👑, in case anyone finds themselves facing it in the future. Please know you're #neveralone
And the guy on the right is just jealous of how fucking fly I look.
Thanks to my @chicago_breasties and The Breasties for surrounding me so immediately with care (@sydd_2611 especially) and support, thanks to everyone who reached out, and thanks to @stp_jimjam for being the best husband and human of the century. Love you long, lonnnnng time 😘
That's right! Melissa will be heading to fashion week in New York City for a truly #gingerstrong cause! Thank you @courageforthesoul for the amazing shout out and constant support!

On this #WarriorCrushWednesday meet #metastaticbreastcancer survivor Melissa Beck - filmmaker and director of Ginger from Chicago - who will be walking this year’s @anaonointimates for New York Fashion Week 2019 on Sunday, February 10. She will be walking with and representing people living with Metastatic Breast Cancer. It’s going to an epic and badass event. We couldn’t be happier for our dear friend Melissa. All proceeds from this event goes to @metavivor - Metastatic Breast Cancer Research nonprofit in a mission to find solutions to extend the life of #mbc patients. Your support helps extend Melissa’s life and the life of many other people living with this disease. For tickets and donations visit @anaonointimates or @metavivor. Help us send our Chicago Breastie Melissa warm hugs and love as she rocks the runway on Sunday!

The Beloit International Film Festival (BIFF) is setting up to be one heck of a festival! Not only is Ginger screening on February 23rd and 24th, but two other great Chicago films Banana Season and Olympia are screening too. We're excited for all the great films, but we wanted to give a little love to James Choi, the producer of banana season. James is an incredible producer and huge Ginger supporter, and we have been hearing nothing but great things about Banana Season! He'll be running a workshop at the fest on micro indie producing AKA making a movie with a very low budget which just happens to be our director's specialty as well. It should be a great festival all around so be sure to check out everything #BIFF has to offer!
Well, it's been a pretty great day for Ginger! Thank you to the Beloit International Film Festival for this amazing honor! We were invited to screen as part of their year round series in 2018, and now we're heading back to Beloit, WI as an Official Selection to their 2019 film festival!
